Presentation:

Natural wine producer Francesca Padovani is clear. And so do many other natural wine producers around the world. Natural wine producers are challenging modern winemaking and returning to artisanal methods. They make wine without additives, without stripping it of its soul through filtration or fining. The natural wine movement has gone from being an outsider in the wine world to trending and researching. But women producers are still less numerous than men, even among natural winegrowers. Who are these women who produce natural wine in the heart of Europe? Why did they choose to do what they do? What are their passions and challenges?

Meet nine women from all over Europe: among them, a graphic designer turned winemaker in the middle of the Austrian capital; the Burgenland sisters who told their father they had a plan and that he had to step down; the Jura winegrower who only trusts herself and her feelings without worrying about what others may think; a guardian of nature in Sicily, motivated by one thing: leaving a legacy for future generations.

We Don't Want Any Crap in Our Wine is the first book dedicated exclusively to women natural wine producers.

The author:

Camilla Gjerde is passionate about natural wine. Since her first sip of Arianna Occhipinti's Il Frappato in 2008, she has explored the world of natural wine: she drank, visited winemakers and wine fairs, took classes. Over the years she learned the basics of wine through the Wine and Spirit Education Trust and holds a diploma in wine. But what matters most to her is the passion and the person behind the wine. Camilla holds a doctorate in political science, and her interest in outsiders is the connection between her political research and her passion for natural winemakers.
