Presentation :
Inaugurated as part of the UNESCO Chair “Culture and Traditions of Wine”, the Rencontres du Clos-Vougeot have the major objective of understanding wine as a product
cultural, vector of civilization, whose enlightened consumption is part of a true art of living and a philosophy linked to conviviality and sharing, humanist values if there ever were one. Dedicated in 2010 to the theme: “Men and wine: wine, heritage and marker of cultural identity”, these fourth Meetings allowed international speakers from various disciplines to compare their points of view on a “wine culture” which gradually extended throughout the time and space of the world.
Thus, wine remains a heritage of identity, a link for interculturality. Men of wine (wine growers, oenologists, coopers, etc.) but also poets, philosophers, writers, painters, musicians, artists in general, whom Noé's beverage inspires, are there to bear witness to this. As also evidenced by the constantly affirmed enthusiasm for enotourism and wine museums or the rapid emergence of new research structures in vitiviniculture and that of friendly groups for sharing around tastings and refined cuisine, in harmony with the wines served and the promises of the terroirs.
