Presentation:
Inspired by the trend of microhistory, this work attempts to show how 150 years of singular history of a family of winegrowers is interwoven into the great history of Burgundy wines and contributes to it.
From 1872 to 2022, we will follow the evolution of techniques and knowledge of vines and wine, we will understand the challenges of appellations and the notion of terroir. We will see how a climat winegrower worked in the past, works today, and for the future and we will see that sometimes everything has to change so that nothing changes.
The author:
Rose-Marie Ponsot was born in the heart of the great wines of the Côte de Nuits where she grew up. A trained philosopher, after a career in consulting, she returned to her origins and represents the fourth generation at the head of Domaine Ponsot in Morey-Saint-Denis. She defines herself as “a conduit” between the generations that preceded her and those that will succeed her. This work is an illustration of this.
