Presentation:
Roland Lecarpentier was born in 1963, a dreadful vintage. Not one to hold a grudge, he made a career in wine, having understood that it was the best way to drink a lot of good wine at little cost, and to rub shoulders with the cream of French cuisine.
After forty years of loyal service, in the dining room and in the kitchen, he has concocted this succulent and truculent book, rich in "fine" blows of mouth and in "coups de coeur". He decries everything from behind the bar, without spitting in the soup and without any tongue in cheek. He debunks preconceived ideas, grills the abuses and unspoken facts about viticulture, and sifts through the absurdities that are not lacking in the world of wine. An instructive and hilarious book, far from the unbearable speeches.
A real way to approach wine, viticulture and wine marketing without the inferiority complexes that too many professionals want to instill in the often naive consumer.
Because we can appreciate good things without making them sacred, because it is not necessary to empty one's bank account to find a good bottle and because we should not always believe everything we are told...
Here's to you!
The author:
After a childhood marked by the cooking flavors of his grandmothers and his mother, Roland Lecarpentier decided to stay close to the stove and embrace the career of a chef. He then became a maître d'hôtel, then devoted his life to wine: he was a sommelier, a wine merchant, and a customer manager for a major brand before becoming a wine merchant.
